After taking a week off, I couldn't take it anymore. My plan was to take two weeks off and focus on cardio but I felt horrible not working out every day. On Sunday, I decided to start Round 2 and this time my friend Paula is joining me. It's her first time and she's excited about getting in shape!
So Monday we did Plyo. Please, someone remind me to never take time off again. It was really hard. Kind of like the first time I ever did plyo! Anyway, we made it through that workout. Last night we did Chest and Back and it went pretty well. Tonight we'll be doing Yoga X. I'm looking forward to that because even though it's a long workout (1 1/2 hours) I usually feel awesome afterwards.
So excited to be on Round 2 of P90X. This is Day 4 and we're off to a great start. I'm very excited to see the results for this round.
KEEP PUSHING PLAY!!

P90X GRADUATE
Friends, my 90 days have come and gone. I am officially a P90X Graduate!! I finished my 90 days last Friday. What a fantastic feeling it was!!! There was so much going on with work and otherwise last week that I didn't get a chance to post on Friday.
I am now in my 2 weeks of cardio and taking a little break from P90X...not completely though because I am still doing a my pull-ups, push-ups, some yoga, abs and leg work. I'm just doing MUCH shorter versions of the workouts. ;-)) My goal is to be on the treadmill or outside walking and running every day for the next 12 days then I'll be ready to start my next round of P90X.
I measured Friday morning and lost in excess of 13" total! I was very happy with the results. I finally got around to taking my pictures last night. I will post them tomorrow.
Today I should be receiving my shipment of Body by Vi shakes. I've heard great things about the shakes and they are much cheaper than Shakeology. I can't wait to get started on them. I know friends of friends that have lost 8-12 pounds in 2 weeks after starting the shakes. I'm so excited and they are ultra healthy for you and contain probiotics!! A huge plus!!
Ok, have a great day. Until next time...

Day 87
Hi All! Despite all of the struggles over the last few days, I made it to Day 87 and stayed on track with my workouts. I'm in "recovery week" so tonight I'll be doing Kenpo X, which is a walk in the park compared to the other workouts.
I'm trying to eat healthy but I'm struggling a little in that area. I need to lower my carb intake. I know been above where I should be for the last 2 days so I need to get back to my 40/20/20 breakdown. Today I've done pretty good. I had a nutrigrain waffle for breakfast and hibachi chicken with brown rice for lunch. Now it's time to load up on water. I have been slacking some in that area over the last 3-4 days and I can really tell a difference (and not in a good way).
In the meantime, we'll just keep pushing play and conquer these last few days!
Have a blessed day!

Day 81
Whooop...there it is!!! It's Day 81 and time for YOGA X!!! I'm in a great mood today and full of energy. Plan to go straight home and knock out my workout. Then will spend the rest of the evening with my little man.
Can't believe I only have 8 days left!!! "Makes me sad" as Tony Horton would say!!

DAY 80
WHOOO HOOOOOOO!!! Welcome to Day 80! Today I will be doing my last session of Back & Biceps in this round. Yesterday I did plyometrics and afterwards I was so full of energy that I cut the grass, cleaned house and cooked dinner. Tonight Zachary has t-ball practice so we won't be home until 7:15...at which point I'll be pushing play!
I'm on the final countdown now...so exciting!!!! I can't wait to finish up, do a mix for two weeks and start over!! ;-))

DAY 76
Happy Friday!!! So it's Day 76, Kenpo X day! Last night I did Legs & Back and ARX. I had a great workout and really pushed myself. I increased reps on all pull-up exercises and some of the back and lunge exercises. I still hate those sneaky lunges. They are KILLER!!!
Other good news: I went to the dr. yesterday and my cholesterol dropped from 210 to 177! My doctor was VERY impressed! I have to at least credit part of that to P90X.
So I have 14 days left. That's two weeks to really BRING IT!!! I can't wait to take my measurements again on Day 90!

HELLLLOOOOO Day 72
Wow!! Crazy! "I can't believe it's almost over...makes me sad" as Tony Horton says in the Ab Ripper X video. lol Well, this round may be almost over but that just means that I'm a day closer to starting the next round.
Yesterday I completed Chest & Back and really rocked it! I went up on all of my exercises and on the weight I used. I can tell a huge increase in my strength. I was knocking out push-ups yesterday like never before. It felt great. I did well on pull-ups and chin-ups too but I'm still using the chair for assistance. I am still looking to my goal of being able to do unassisted pull-ups. I'm thinking it will be sometime during round 2.
Yesterday was a great day and I managed to pretty much stay on target with my health plan. I had Fat/Carbs/Protein = 32%/27%/41%. Fat % was a little high but everything I ate yesterday was healthy. I'm going to work hard this week to keep the fat grams and carbs down and protein up. So for today, I have already had 26 fat grams, 112 grams of carbs and 38.3 grams of protein. So I'll have an apple for my afternoon snack and talapia and a salad for dinner. That should put me where I need to be. I'll probably throw a protein shake in there somewhere too.
Until tomorrow...KPP!! 18 days to go until ROUND 1 will be COMPLETE!

Day 68!!
Well, here we are on Day 68! Last night after t-ball and dinner, I set up for yoga. I admit I wasn't really in the mood and after about 40 minutes, I fast-forwarded through to the balance postures. That's the first time I've "cheated" but IMHO all of the Chatarunga moves are overkill. I think we could skip 10 of those and still be doing enough. This is kind of funny but because I can repeat pretty much everything Tony is going to say on every tape, it may be time for me to start muting my tv during workouts. I find that now I'm starting to talk back to him..lol
So tonight I'll be doing Legs and Back with Ab Ripper X. I prepared a graph of my progress yesterday on ARX and I was pretty impressed.
As for my health plan, I am doing a pretty good job of keeping fat grams to 20 per day. I went 2 over yesterday and 5 the day before. Today I'm on track...just need to stay there. Sometimes, like today at lunch, I have no idea how many fat grams are in something so I do a google search. The info. varies a lot but I always try to overestimate so I won't go over. I had hibachi chicken and brown rice for lunch today. I estimated it at 500 calories and 10 grams of fat. Hopefully that's close to right. ;-))
Have a great rest of the day and I'll be back on Day 69.

"How Do You Do It?"
I get asked this question by people all the time "How do you do it?" Yeh, so I'm a single mom, have a six year old son who is very involved in sports and I have made time for P90X every day for the last 66 days. My answer is always "I MAKE IT HAPPEN". It's what we all have to do if we want to succeed and reach our goals. Don't get me wrong, it's no cakewalk! There have been times that I've done my workout at 9 or 10 at night because that was the only time available during the day. Whatever it takes, just do it.
My entire life I have listened to my mother say "You have a body just like mine and that's just the way it is. You can't change it!" WRONG answer!! I can change it and I am. I have been in pretty good shape most of my life until the last 6 years when Zachary came in to my life. I know what my body is capable of and how I can look. I just have to make the effort and as I said above, MAKE IT HAPPEN!! It's a balancing act but after a while you can master it. ;-)
I started P90X on January 1 knowing that my ultimate goal was to lose 40 lbs. and get back in the sassy clothes that I've had stowed away in my closet for the last few years (size 6-10). Now I'm on my way and it feels great!
So here I am on Day 66, feeling great, full of energy and excited about accomplishing my goal of completing 90 days of P90X. I have 24 days left but guess what?!? It doesn't end there. No way, no how! I'll be taking 2 weeks off to focus on cardio and give my body a break from the every-day workouts but then I'll be back for Round 2! While I'm "breaking" I'm going to continue doing a plyo / upper body / yoga hybrid. Yeh, it's hard but I can't think of anything else that I can do in one hour and burn 800 calories! So, I'm in.
Tonight it's Back & Biceps and ARX for me. Until tomorrow.....

Day 65
Happy Monday!! I didn't really feel that way when I got out of bed this morning. Then I thought about the fact that I have done 65 straight days of P90X. WOW!!!!! I was so proud of myself and impressed, really impressed!!
This morning I was feeling a little light-headed, lazy and had a headache. I figured out what was going on. I was dehydrating! My body is so used to having tons of water every day that when it doesn't get that, it feels HORRIBLE!!! So since noon I have been loading up on water. I've had 3 bottles so far and I'm going for my fourth now. It's amazing that once your body gets used to something, it "requires" it. ;-)
Well, it's PLYO day! I love it but I hate it. ;-)) I'm looking forward to doing this routine tonight. Yeh, it's hard but I always feel so happy and energized when I'm done. I'm going to bring it as much as possible tonight. I've been loading up on protein this afternoon because I will definitely need it with the moves I'll be doing in a few short hours.
I'm also starting a new strategy today thanks to a blog I was introduced to by a fellow BeachBody buddy. Check out this website:
http://teamripped.com/my-nutritionsupplements/nutrition-all-in-one
Coach Wayne sets everything out in detail for you! I am going to change my daily calorie intake after reading this. I bet it will make a huge difference. I've been on a 1500 calorie diet but I'm moving to a 1200-1400 calorie diet starting today. I have not lost a lot of weight since starting P90X and I think this is why. I have lost 8 inches but I want those numbers to go down too (it's a girl thing, I know). ;-) Another thing I'm going to do is cut out the "cheat day". Read through these articles and you'll see why. It makes perfect sense to me!!
Tonight I'm going to BRING IT and tomorrow I'll post an another update.

Day 60 Pics

Day 30 as compared to Day 60!
Welcome to Day 61! Zachary took pictures for me last night and today I ran across some awesome software for side by side pics.
I'm very happy with the results and so excited to see what Day 90 looks like. At this rate, I'll be smoking hot by summer!!!
I am trying to really focus in on healthy eating and cut all of the junk out except on my 1-day a week "cheat day". Stay tuned for more!!!

DAY 60 -- IT'S FINALLY HERE
So, today is the magical Day 60!! I was so excited to get up and take my measurements this morning. I am happy to report that I am down a total of 6" overall. My weight has not decreased at all but my clothes are looser and I'm very happy with shedding 6". ;-) That brings me to an approximate total 8" loss since Day 1. I say "approximate" because it's hard to measure in the exact same spot every time. I always make sure that I round up when measuring. So in order words, I would never go with the lower number but instead would go with the higher number thus realizing that I may have lost more. For instance, I was very surprised that I lost 1/2" more on my right thigh than on my left. This could have been from the way I measured. This time I am going to be more precise when measuring and document it for the 90 Day mark. My biggest overall losses so far have been arms (2" lost on each arm) and chest, waist and hips (1" lost from each). I am happy with the progress and looking forward to losing more in this last phase. There are 30 days left in this round!!!

Day 59
When I got home from work yesterday I literally had to make myself hit the play button. Once I did though, it was on! I did Plyometrics so needless to say I did A LOT of jumping! When those 30 second breaks rolled around, I was SO happy! I gave it everything I had and definitely did BRING IT!
This at 5:15 this morning I was up for my Shoulders and Arms workout. I was tough too, mostly because of the number of exercises and reps. So now my entire body is sore--but it's a really good kind of sore. The kind that reminds me how much hard work you've been doing! I probably burned around 800 calories last night and probably 400 or so this morning.
I am pumped that tomorrow is Day 60 and I get to take pictures and see my results thus far. One thing is for sure, I'm considerably stronger than I was before and my stomach has gotten a lot flatter. I can also see my abs getting more defined. If I keep working hard like this, I'll be sporting a bikini this summer at the beach and feelin' real good about it. ;-))

Day 58
My weekend was good! I took my rest day this week and didn't even bother with X Stretch on Saturday. I really needed a day off! Yesterday I hit it hard!! I started Phase III and killed it on Chest and Back. I still can't do pull-ups but attempting them is so much easier now than it was when I first started. I started to just use the 30-lb. band but I really don't feel like I get as good a workout with the band as I do with the pull-up bar. As for push-ups, I aced them! I exceeded my numbers on all but the diamond push ups. Those are crazy and bother my lower back so I modify them. I was very happy with my progress yesterday. Now, I'm just waiting for Wednesday so I can take pictures and weigh in.
Back to eating taco soup for lunch. I'm adding in more complex carbs because I was losing my appetite. It seemed to help over the weekend so guess I'll keep that up. I'm mostly adding in sweet potatos and things of that sort.
Ok, so that's it for now. Today is Plyo! Can't wait. I just keep focusing on how hot I'm going to look for summer!!!!! ;-))

Day 55 - "Rest Week" Coming to a Close
So it's Day 55 and I have 1 1/2 hours of Yoga X tonight. Can't say I'm overjoyed about it but hey, at least it's Friday!!!!!!!!! Tomorrow I'll be doing X Stretch and on Sunday I'll start Day 1 of Phase III. Can you say WHOOOOO HOOOOO?!?! ;-))
Last night I did Core Synergistics. I ended up only doing 4 of the Dreya Rolls. I was not in the mood by the time I got to the end of the workout and I had two 5 year olds distracting me. ;-) Overall, it was a good workout. I will say that I'm happy I don't have to do that CD again for 3 more weeks.
This weekend we are going to catch up on some much needed rest and clean house. I also have a date tomorrow night so that should be lots of fun too!!
Until Monday... KPP

Day 53

Just for the record, I've got this "Bridge" thing going on. ;-))
When I woke up today and thought about the fact that I am on my 53rd straight day of P90X, I was SO proud of myself and it immediately put me in a great mood! Every day I think about how many days I have left in this first round of the program. Right now I'm looking at 37 days!!! Once it's over, it's really not over though because I will start on my 2nd round after taking two or so weeks off! The way I see it, I have a good, solid 3 months to get my body in short-short, bikini wearing shape. I am slowly but surely getting there! It's definitely something to look forward to.
Speaking of things to look forward to, tonight I'll be doing X Stretch! I really love this hour of stretching. Once it's over I feel amazingly relaxed and flexible.
Tomorrow is Core Synergistics again so I'm hoping to knock it out in the morning before work. That means I'll have to be up by 5:30. Guess I need to make plans now to be in bed no later than 10 p.m. tonight. ;-))
Last thought: I can't wait until next Wednesday when I get to take my 60-Day pictures!!! ;-)
No matter what else you do, remember to clear your mind and KEEP PUSHING PLAY every, single day!!! The results will so be worth it!

Day 51
Woot! Woot!!! It's Day 51 and I'm feeling great! I'm in the last week, aka "Recovery Week" of Phase II. Like I said during the recovery week of Phase I, don't be fooled by the name! I have 39 days left and I'm going to maximize on everything starting today. I was up at 5:30 this morning and completed my Core Synergistics workout. It was hard and I was sweating like crazy when I finished. I felt like a million dollars though.
I'm going to really focus in on my eating and start counting fat grams. I'm already counting calories but I want to reach my full potential during this last phase. I haven't lost any pounds so far but I have definitely lost inches and that's what really counts. Like most women though, I want to see the numbers go down. So, in addition to doing my normal routine every day, I'm going to add in more cardio. The combination of these three things is sure to lighten the scale. Stayed tuned for more updates.
Until Next Time....

"HALF WAY" DAY!!!!
Happy Valentine's Day! We all know the challenges that come with this time of the year. Today I am vowing to continue to stick to my health plan and not give in to the temptations of the day. I will be surrounded by candy but that's ok, I'm strong and know how to resist temptation. I'm on a roll right now and I don't want to blow it.
Now, for the BIG news! Today is Day 45 of P90X! That means I have now hit the half-way mark. How exciting!!!! I have seen amazing results (and will post pictures soon) and am very exciting to see the results for the 2nd half. I'm going to really focus on eating as healthy as possible and maximizing my exercise every day. Yeh, I'm tired a lot but the positives WAY outweigh the negatives!!!
I had to help a friend out after work last night so I didn't start Plyo until around 8 pm. I was amazed that I still had so much energy at that time of the day. I was determined to BRING IT and I did....very early on. I got my heart rate up within the first few minutes of the first round. My high point was when my heart rate hit 180. That meant it was time to slow down just a little. For most of the night, I kept it between 162-168. I probably burned close to 1,000 calories last night! ;-))
Well, that's all for now. I will be doing Back & Biceps today!! ROCK ON!!!

Day 38--52 days to go
Well, that idea of working out in the morning hasn't gone over too well. I have the hardest time getting up in the mornings so I've continued to do my workouts as soon as I get home in the evenings. Since we now have a new puppy, I have added walking/running to my daily routine. It has, at time, been quite a challenge to keep up with everything. Somehow I've managed to push play every day though!!
The diet is going well. I have implemented one cheat day in to the week. I read on one of the P90X message boards that if you don't cheat once a week or so, your body gets used to the way you are eating and you won't lose as fast. So not only do you have to confuse your muscles, but you have to confuse the rest of your body too!
Last night I did Plyometrics! It was tough...as always...but I felt super energized when I was done. My heart rate reached 180, at which point I took an extra 30 minute break. That dropped it down to around 168 which is the perfect fat-burning zone for me. Tonight I'll be doing Back/Biceps which = TONS of push-ups! It wasn't my favorite thing to do when I started this but I'm starting to like them more now since I'm getting so much stronger.
That's all for now...BRING IT!!!

DAY 33
I have MIA on here but have not missed a day of P90X!!!! I'm in the first week of Phase II and I am STRUGGLING!!!!!!!! I continue to do it every day but after having the so-called "rest week" off, I am really having a hard time getting back in the groove this week. I did Yoga X last night and I swear, it's nothing short of a miracle that I was able to get through the entire workout. I distinctly remember looking at the timer on my t.v. screen and it said there was 1:14 left of the session. I didn't know if I could make it but I pushed through and finished the entire 1 1/2 hours.
I am ULTRA sore this week...but don't be fooled in to thinking that it's all from P90X. The truth is that we got a new puppy last Friday and for a few days when I would take her for a walk, she was WALKING ME!!!!!! My neck and shoulders were killing me but I found that Yoga and Stretch X really helped me. I am still hurting some today but it's a lot better than it was. Also, I have now learned how to train her to walk beside me. I'm happy to report that she is doing MUCH better. ;-))
So while every day I find myself wanting to skip out on part of my workout, I am still determined to make it through every single workout.
Stay tuned!! Tomorrow morning I'll be getting up at 5 a.m. to do Kenpo and Ab Ripper X. I'm going to try the morning approach and see how that works.

Welcome to Day 24
Folks, it's Kenpo day today!!!! Yesterday was Core Synergistics and it was NO joke! I'm not sure why they call this rest and recovery week because you don't won't be getting any extra rest. ;-) I guess it's because there's no heavy lifting going on. It's not to be taken lightly or you will be getting a wake-up call. There's also something about being in a routine. I am a very routine-oriented person but the P90X is not really routine-oriented. The goal here is to confuse the muscle and mix things up. It keeps the body guessing what's next and that's what helps you obtain the hot, lean body that you want.
So tonight I'll be doing Kenpo. It's probably one of the easiest routines but definitely not a slacker routine. It gets the blood flowing and heart pumping. I'm excited that on Saturday I will be at the end of Phase I. I'm really proud of myself for plowing through the first month!! I'm seeing some very noticable results and can't wait to post 30 day pictures.
The diet is also going well. I am loading up on the protein, holding back some on the carbs and fat grams. I decided to take a new approach to eating starting today. I'm now eating every hour to hour and 15 minutes. I figure this will have my metabolism rockin' and rollin'. I feel great today, have tons of energy and have gotten lots accomplished at work.
When I get home this evening, I'll "push play" and do my workout. Then I'll aim for 8 hours of sleep tonight. ;-)
Until tomorrow...

Day 23...WAHOOOO
HELLO Day 23!!! I have made it to the last week of Phase I..rest and recovery, so they call it. ;-) Yesterday I did Yoga X, today I will be doing Core Synergistics and tomorrow Kenpo. Not really a lot of resting going on but the good news is, no pull-ups this week. Yeah!!
I'm feeling great as far as working out goes. I'm trying to really keep my focus this week on drinking tons of water, eating a lot of protein and low fat grams.
I have all but cut coffee out of my daily routine. I haven't had a cup since last Thursday. I went from putting flavored creamer in, to drinking it black and now I'm going without it all together. It's almost like my body said "Well, if I can't have all of the good stuff in the coffee, why have it at all?" So here we are!
I'm very excited to be in the last week of Phase 1. I can't wait to move on to Phase II but in the meantime I'm going to enjoy all of the core work, yoga and stretching that I get to do this week! Stretch X ROCKS!!

DAY 19
I'm back!! I've been out of town on a ski trip for the last week and just returned to work today. I fought off all of the distractions while I was gone and stayed on track. I have made it to Day 19 and haven't missed a day yet!! I'm really proud of myself...not surprised though. When I make up my mind to do something, I do it!
I can already see a significant difference and changes in just the almost 3 weeks that I've been doing P90X. I feel great...have tons of energy and usually stay a little sore every day (which I think is a GREAT thing). Next week is rest week for me. Yeh, well that doesn't mean that I get to lie down on the couch every night or sleep late every morning. What that means is that I'll be doing Yoga X a few times, Stretch X a few times and Core Synerginics. I'm looking forward to next week. I'm not a huge yoga person but the more I do it the better I get and that makes me like it more. ;-)) I'm really looking forward to taking my 30 day pictures!!!!! Just 11more days! I can't wait to see the difference.
Stay tuned for another update tomorrow! Tonight I'll be doing Legs & Back and Ab Ripper X!!!!!!!!

Day 11
My workout last night was great!! I was so exhausted afterwards that I got in bed around 9 pm. I slept great. My body was exhausted and I knew I would have to get some extra rest to keep the momentum going. Tonight is Yoga X which lasts for 1 1/2 hours. The first 45 minutes are tough...then it gets much easier.
SO let's talk nutrition for a minute. P90X has a detailed nutrition plan. Basically it's calorie counting. So since I have been doing Weight Watchers, I am going to stay on that track. I started in September 2011 and managed to stay on it through the holidays. Sure I cheated some but I tried to average my calories out every week to where they should be. I try to stay within 25-27 points which averages out to between 1,250-1,350 per day. Based on this information and the information I calculated online about my metabolic rate, I am probably getting a deficit of around 1,000 calories per day. This may not be 100% accurate since it's a generic online calculator. It estimated my BMR to be 2,401 & my RMR to be 2,316. If I keep this pace up during my 90 days, I should really start to see some amazing results.
It's motivation to keep plowing forward!!!! I'm going to make a vow to myself to not weigh again until I hit the 30 day mark, which will mean I can weigh in on January 31. It's something to look forward to for sure!!

Yeah....it's Day 10!!!
I'm feeling great today and excited to be on Day 10. This means that I'm a little over 10% through the program!! ;-)) I've got to keep the motivation going. It shouldn't be a problem because I can honestly say that I'm in my groove!!!
Yesterday I did Plyometrics and it was tough! I still love it even though it's the hardest workout. I just keep picturing myself getting in shape and imagining how I'll feel once I get there. I can't wait! Tonight I'll be doing Shoulders and Arms which in my opinion, will be considerably easier than yesterday. ;-))
We are leaving for the mountains on Friday. We're spending a long weekend with the family and skiing. I'll be on P90X every day that I'm there. Got to keep it up!!

Day 8
Yesterday we started Week 2! Whooo Hooo! I have to say that the Chest and Back workout is probably my least favorite workout, mainly because I struggle with the pull-ups. I dont think I've ever been able to do a single pull-up in my life. In 2005 I was in tip top shape and I could do 25 regular push-ups. I will get that back rather quickly but pull-ups may be a different story. If I could just do 1 or 2I would be THRILLED!!! So other than that struggle, I like that workout fine. It's hard but hey, no pain, no gain!
This evening I'll be doing Plyometrics for Day 9! I really love this workout, even though it's tough. I finish up feeling great and full of energy.
I have been doing AbRipper X every day that I'm suppose to and I find that it's getting easier every time. Just have to keep it up. I swear after just one week, I can tell a difference in my stomache. ;-)
Ok, that's all for now. My P90X system arrived today so now I have my own copies of all of the DVDs and books. I'm leaving for the mountains this weekend...going snow skiing...so I'll have everything I need to keep this up every day! I don't want to miss a beat. ;-)

Day 7 P90X
WAHOOOO!!!! I'm so excited!!! As of today I finished my first week of p90X. I really like this exercise program and I can see myself getting totally addicted. I have had SO much energy since starting P90X. I feel like I'm 25 again. ;-)
On Day 7 you have a choice to do either Stretch X or rest. I did both. I took a 3 hour nap today and when I woke up I did Stretch X. It was super relaxing and the stresses made me feel great. I know I'm going to sleep well tonight.
So tomorrow the entire routine starts over. I'm looking forward to this week. Weeks 1-3 are the same routine every week. Starting in week 4 the routine changes. At least I know what to expect for the next two weeks. ;-))
I am also doing well with my diet. I bought more protein shakes today and some protein bars. I've also been eating a lot of yogurt. It's funny, but I'm not even tempted to eat anything naughty. I know it's not worth it...that's why. ;-))

Day 5 P90X
I'm feeling great today but I've got to tell you, last night was a BEAR!! We did yoga on Day 4 and the first 45 minutes were brutal. My neck has been bothering more in the last few days. I am going to be really careful about straining it during exercise. I think also with yoga it's very difficult to have to constantly look at the tv to make sure you're in the right position with the proper form. Thankfully after 45 minutes of tough moves it started getting a little easier. By the end of the yoga session we were doing stretches that I was very familiar with and I finished up totally relaxed. I'm thinking that I'll grow to love the yoga session as time goes on. In my opinion it was the most difficult session I've encountered so far (at least the first 45 minutes were anyway).
Tonight we are working Legs and back and I have read some reviews that say it is TOUGH!! No problem. As Tony would say, "Do your best and forget the rest!". ;-)

Wednesday - -Day 4 of P90X
HAPPY HUMP DAY!!!
It's Wednesday and I'm feeling GREAT!!!! It's DAY 4 of P90X!!!!!! I'm still a little sore (ok, maybe more than just a little) but I am full of energy and zipping around like a wild woman. ;-)
Last night we completed our Day 3 workout which consisted of Shoulders, Arms and Ab Ripper X. In my opinion, it was, by far, the easiest workout we have done so far. If I was starting from scrach I would probably be hurting today. I used 10 lb. weights and that was perfect for now. I will need to move up soon though.
Really great news about last night....I did NOT have any problems with nausea or indigestion!! YEAH!!!!! It made my workout so much more enjoyable! I believe the key was 1) not eating after 3:30pm; 2)Loading up on water during the day but slacking off around 5pm; and 3) cutting down on the amount of water I drank while working out.
We started working out around 6:15 and it took us 1hour, 20 minutes to complete the circuit. I ate dinner around 8pm. I'm trying to avoid carbs at night and just stick with pure protein.
The one problem I did have was that I went to bed at 10:15 and was WIDE awake at 12:30! I was so energetic that I felt like I could go for a run. That was crazy! It could be because of the coffee I had yesterday SO today I limited myself to one cup this a.m. (instead of 2) and I won't have any more caffeine until tomorrow morning. Hopefully this will help me sleep better tonight.
Ok, so tonight's workout is YOGA!!!!!!!! Stay tuned for an update in the a.m. I have heard that it's no cakewalk!!
Cheers!

Started P90X on January 1, 2012
HELLO ALL!! Thanks for joining me as I start a new journey to health and fitness. This time I'm going extreme! One of my New Year's Resolutions this year is to get my body in the best shape possible. SO, I started P90X Classic on the 1st. Today is Day 3 and it's no joke, my legs, thighs and back are feeling it!!! I'm a very driven person and when I make up my mind to do something, I DO IT!!! So there will be no slacking off during the next 90 days. ;-)
I FEEL GREAT!!! We have worked out on the P90X system twice now and while I am sore, I am full of energy!!!!!
One issue I've had since starting is that indigestion and nausea have been rough. After doing some research online, I think I need to change up a few things:
First, I need to LOAD up on water during the day. I usually drinks 2-3 bottles a day but I need to start drinking earlier in the a.m. and load up all day then cut back on the water when I'm working out. Maybe keep it to a minimum of one bottle during the routine.
Secondly, I need to NOT eat within 3 hours of doing my workout. I thought I would die last night of indigestion!!! It was horrible but I kept going and made it through my entire workout. Afterwards I was nauseated and the indigestion was so bad I couldn't eat dinner. I ended up drinking water with a teaspoon of baking soda! YUK!!! Hey, it helped tremendously so it was worth it.
Thirdly, I need to workout AT LEAST 3 hours before going to bed. The first night I went to bed about 1 1/2 hours after finishing the routine and I couldn't sleep. It was a miserable night of tossing and turning but when I woke up the next morning, despite being sleep deprived, I was very energetic!
Fourth, be very patient. As they say on the video, Rome wasn't built in a day and neither was your body. SO TRUE!! It will take time but the results will come. The internet is such a great resource for motivation, not to mention solutions to things like indigestion, nausea and so forth as related to working out. I'm glad to know that I'm not alone!
I am working out with my neighbors, Linh and Rico. We are committed to getting through this program and transforming our bodies. It's challenging in several ways, aside from the obvious challenges, we all have children. We won't let that stop us though. It's all about drive and determination.
My other source of motivation is my BFF who just finished her 90 day workout. She started the program in great shape and is very happy with the results she acheived. She has been telling me about her workouts for the last few months and how she is absolutely addicted to P90X. She got me inspired so that's how I got started. I've always been active and was in great shape when I was younger. I think around 2007 I really started slipping and put on an extra 25-30 lbs. I'm determined to get rid of it..and this is MY year!! ;-))
Ok, that's all for today!!!!! We have the shoulders and arms workout tonight and ab ripper. Tomorrow we have Yoga X. I hear it's really hard but I'm looking forward to it.
Until next time....
